The Right Reverend Wallace Benn has been Suffragan Bishop of Lewes since 1997 and lives with his wife and family in Eastbourne, East Sussex. As well as an experienced parish clergyman, having spent 25 years in parish ministry, he is a well-known inspirational speaker and a published author who has also written articles in various theological journals. He is particularly keen to see the Word of God upheld in every aspect. He is an enthusiastic rugby watcher and supporter and also enjoys motor racing.

The Bishop of Horsham has responsibility for most of West Sussex (apart from Chichester and some parishes to the west of Hove) and for some parishes in East Sussex to the north of Brighton and east of East Grinstead, together with one parish in Kent. Map

 

Bishop Mark became Bishop of Horsham in 2009 after 17 years in parish ministry and five years as a Selection Secretary/Vocations Officer with the Ministry Division of the Archbishops’ Council. He has an abiding concern for vocations to lay and ordained ministry and has a passion for the unity of the Church at Diocesan and Ecumenical levels. Bishop Mark is married to Ruth and they live in Horsham with their three daughters.
