Cathedral Appoints Sarah Baldock as Organist and Master of the Choristers...
Chichester Cathedral is delighted to announce that Miss Sarah Baldock has accepted the position of Organist and Master of the Choristers, with effect from Easter of next year.
Sarah has been at Winchester Cathedral since 1998, for the last five years as Assistant Director of Music. Prior to joining Winchester, Sarah was Organ Scholar at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Sarah says she is “particularly looking forward to working with the Chichester Cathedral Choir and joining the Cathedral community”.
Chichester Cathedral are very pleased with this appointment, which was made from an outstanding field of applicants. The Dean of Chichester, the Very Reverend Nicholas Frayling said, “We are delighted that Sarah will be joining us at the Cathedral. She is a wonderful musician and I am sure she will be a worthy successor to Alan Thurlow who has contributed so much to the worship and life of the Cathedral for over a quarter of a century.”
The appointment follows Alan Thurlow's announcement that he will be retiring next year. Alan has been Organist and Master of the Choristers at Chichester Cathedral for 28 years.
