Bishop’s Easter Sermon

Last evening at the beginning of the liturgy we heard in the Exultet, the Easter praises, the evocative description “the most blessed of all nights.” We prayed that “the Morning Star which never sets (that is Christ himself) may find this flame still burning.” Well, of course, the Easter Candle will eventually burn down, but I pray that the flame of resurrection faith will never be dimmed in your hearts and minds, but will continue to make you living signs that of the fact that Christ is risen and of the certain hope that he will come again.
