Welcome to the mission and renewal part of the diocesan website.
The department serves church revitalisation at every level aiming to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
We work within the wider support for parishes’ team to help churches address the three Life Together priorities of attending to God, building Christian community and commending God’s love for the world.
Our main work is through hands-on involvement at the invitation of parishes, deaneries and the bishops. We also provide or facilitate central and regional training events on liturgy and worship including preaching, Christian spirituality including healing ministry, prayer exploration and spiritual direction, church growth including leadership, evangelism, apologetics, stewardship and inter faith encounter.
The team assists the promotion of helpful national resources such as Alpha, Back to Church Sunday, Christianity Explored, Christian Viewpoint for Men, Church Army, Emmaus, Fan the Flame, Fresh Expressions, Growing Healthy Churches, Jesus Video, Lost for Words, Mission-shaped church, More to Life, On the Move and the Royal School of Church Music. We help parishes connect with 24-7 Prayer, Caister at Pakefield, Contemplative Fire, Cursillo, Franciscan Tertiaries, New Wine, Spring Harvest, Walsingham, religious communities and other networks concerned to promote the deepening of spiritual life, intercessory prayer, spiritual direction, faith sharing, church planting and the support of Christians in the workplace.
